Meeting of the Board of Aldermen of the City of Clarkson Valley at City Hall (Fru-Con Center), March 5, 2013.

The meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. A roll call was taken with the following results:

Alderperson Midyett made a motion to accept the Minutes from the February 2013 Meeting.  Alderperson Sittser seconded the motion.  A voice vote was taken to accept the Minutes with an affirmative result and the motion was declared passed.  

REMARKS, PETITIONS AND COMPLAINTS 

Ms. Eren Taylor-Scaggs attended the meeting to discuss the American Cancer Society Relay For Life event.  Mayor Douglass asked her to hold comments until the appropriate time on the Agenda.

REPORTS 

St. Louis County Police Report:  Officer John Wehner handed out the February 2013 Police Report.   

Mayor’s Report 

Court Report:  The total amount collected for traffic fines and court costs for the month of February 2013 was $16,267.50.  

Judge Lusser to Retire:  Mayor Douglass mentioned this month will be the last time the Honorable Judge Rene' Lusser will preside over our court.  At tonight's meeting, we will discuss the appointments of a provisional judge and prosecuting attorney. 

Sales Tax:  Mayor Douglass discussed this month's sales tax revenues compared to previous years and spoke of preliminary estimates for the remaining months in our fiscal year, which ends June 30. 

Alderpersons' Reports 

Drug Take-Back:  Alderperson Meyer announced there would be another drug take-back event, which is scheduled for April 27th from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.   

City Attorney's Report 

There was no report.

There was no unfinished business.   

NEW BUSINESS 

Discussion of Relay For Life:  Ms. Eren Taylor-Scaggs made a presentation for the 13th Annual American Cancer Society Relay For Life sponsored by Rockwood School District.  This event, "An Affair To Remember", is open to the community.  The dates and time are May 31 to June 1, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. and will be held at Marquette High School.  Ms. Scaggs said the last time Marquette hosted this event in 2006, the chairman received permission for door-hangers to be placed on the doors of homes that would be likely affected and at her request, Mayor Douglass granted permission to place them again this year.  Alderperson Schiller mentioned that in addition to the homes backing up to the high school from Dunhill Subdivision, residents backing up to Kehrs Mill Road on Forest Hills Ridge Court and Jennycliffe Lane should be contacted.  Alderperson King made a motion to accept the special event application.  Alderperson Sittser seconded the motion.  A voice vote was taken with a unanimous affirmative result and the motion was declared passed. 

Printer for Court Clerk:  Mayor Douglass said he spoke with the owner of Comm-Tech, Roger Ebinger, about the printer for the court clerk.  A motion was made by Alderperson Schiller to purchase the printer detailed in the packet, seconded by Alderperson Midyett.  A voice vote was taken with a unanimous affirmative result and the motion was declared passed.  

Audit:  Alderperson Schiller made a motion to approve for payment invoices in the amount of $65,412.15, seconded by Alderperson Midyett.  A voice vote was taken with a unanimous affirmative result and the motion was declared passed.  

Alderperson Sittser made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Alderperson King.  A voice vote was taken with a unanimous affirmative result and the motion was declared passed.  The Meeting of the Board of Aldermen adjourned at 8:15 p.m.
